Join FAIR at the March on the Media in New York
Wednesday, September 1, 7-10 pm
Converge at 52nd Street and the west side of 6th Avenue
http://marchonthemedia.org/
For the past few years, the mainstream media have marched in lockstep with the Bush administration. Now it's time to march on the media.
Whether the issue is the Iraq war, the 2000 Florida recount, the Patriot Act or post- 9/11 detentions, the mainstream media have behaved more like lapdogs than watchdogs. We come to challenge their domination of the public discourse and to celebrate what the people of the world are achieving through new independent media based on responsibility and a commitment to justice.
Organized by FAIR, Paper Tiger TV and other media activists, the march will be simulcast on WBAI 99.5 FM, New York's Pacifica station. Bring a radio so you can be sure to hear the lineup of great speakers, emceed by FAIR's Peter Hart.
